Programs for Anthropology Majors

Anthropology is the study of human diversity in all times and places.  We therefore recommend that Anthropology majors consider taking part in a study abroad program for a minimum of three credit hours. IUPUI-approved study abroad programs, including approved programs on other IU campuses, are all eligible. Students should try to plan for a Study Abroad experience as early as possible in their major so that you will be sure to stay on track to finish all your requirements by your planned graduation date. All students must meet with the IUPUI program director or faculty mentor  PRIOR to committing to a study abroad course to confirm if and how the course will transfer.

Note: Study abroad programs are subject to change/cancellation due to circumstances beyond the university’s control.

As an IUPUI student, you are eligible to participate in IU programs on all campuses. Below are offerings that may suit your study abroad interests.

Looking for something different?

This list above is not exhaustive for programs that could fulfill major credits for your degree. You can consider programs outside your major area of study to fulfill general education and/or elective credits or a semester program with English as the primary language of instruction.

You can also consider a non-IU program through various study abroad program providers or other universities. Read about Non-IU Programs for more information on how to start the application process. If you find a non-IU program that fits your interests, contact our office  at least 6 weeks before your departure to ensure credit transfer and to learn more about applying financial aid or scholarships.
