Study abroad country and program: England, Harlaxton College
Favorite part of study abroad experience: I loved walking through London by myself, including taking the tube by myself. I felt like someone different, like I could take the London tube anywhere! I used it to meet my friends for the London Eye and River Thames cruise, and to see a musical on West End. I wish I could go back to London by myself and experience that feeling all over again. I don't think I will get to experience that level of independence again for a long time, and it gave me so much confidence that I didn't have before. It was a challenge to my comfort zone and one that my program's directors stressed the whole time we were there. They were right! Getting out of your comfort zone can feel so terrifying at first, but once you're done, you'll be so thankful you did it. It leaves you feeling exhilarated and ready for more chances.
